Enjoying another Texas beer with my Texas Aggie son-in-law via Duo. Great way to stay in touch, critiquing beers.
Starts with a very short head that dissipates quickly. Intense coconut aroma along with a powerful rum alcohol. Color is dark brown and opaque. Mouth feel is heavy and thick. An intense blast of simultaneous flavors. A robust rum alcohol, coconut, dark chocolate, and nutmeg all at once. Not getting any cinnamon. This forceful blend continues unaltered through the finish.
The 11.76% alcohol seemed much stronger and felt much stronger also. Came in a pint can so I'm glad I am having this at home. Many of these barrel-aged and high alcohol content brews are not enjoyable to me. I would probably have rated this higher if the alcohol was calmed down a bit.
