Our Christmas Ale is a brown ale that is brewed with ten types of malted barley and fermented with American Ale yeast. It is brewed with pale malt as well as a combination of caramel, Munich, chocolate, and roasted malts. It is hopped and dry hopped with Columbus, Cascade, Centennial, and Amarillo and has a nice piney and citrus hop flavor and aroma. The result is a flavorful brown ale that is sweet and malty with a pleasant hop aroma.

Es ist zwar noch etwas hin bis Weihnachten, aber einem Abverkauf bei der Bierothek konnte ich nicht widerstehen. Das MHD dieses Christmas Ale lautet 12/2023. Es läuft dunkelbraun und trüb ins Glas; die Blume ist rasch flüchtig. Der Geruch ist eine Melange aus Karamellmalz, Citrus, Harz und der amerikanischen Ale-Hefe. Diese Kombi erzeugt irgendwie den Eindruck von einem Hauch weihnachtlicher Gewürze. Der Antrunk ist bei äußerst geringer Carbonisierung relativ weich und süffig. Er bietet dann sofort einen Geschmackseindruck analog zur erschnupperten Melange. Mit zunehmender Temperatur übernimmt die Ale-Hefe die geschmackliche Dominanz. Leider läuft das Ale dann ziemlich dünn aus.
