Well, it's that time of year again. Time for me to come out of hiding and share the experience of my barrel aged Advent Calendar with you. This is the...7th year, I believe. I think I started this in 2019. I pull beers from my cellar to help dwindle the supply and see how things are aging.
The rules are simple:
1) The bottle/can size can't exceed 16oz.
2) The beer must be aged in a barrel.
3) The beer cannot be from the current calendar year.

Canned in 2020
In my current location, I can't really get a nose on this...too many other smells present.
Taste has bourbon, roasted malts, vanilla and oak coming through first, followed by chocolate. The oak lingers into the aftertaste.
Full body, smooth mouthfeel and low carbonation medium-low carbonation. This one is drinking beautifully right now. I wish I had more, but sadly this is the last one. This is wonderful. 4.75/5

Toffee-like aroma hits first, followed by chocolate, bourbon and vanilla. Taste has bourbon and toffee first, followed by chocolate, roasted malts, oak and vanilla. Decently boozy, but it is 15% abv.
The body is full with a nice smooth mouthfeel and low carbonation.
This one is definitely a bit boozy, but it doesn't drink like a 15%er. The balance is pretty good and I feel like I get something different each time I have one. The toffee notes didn't exist in the past (if my memory serves me correctly), but it's a welcome addition. I either have one left or this is it, I'm not sure. I'm gonna sip on this for a while then it's bedtime. Cheers everyone!

Bourbon, sweet malts, oak and vanilla in the aroma. Taste has bourbon, oak, dark fruits, semisweet malts and vanilla notes. Very smooth for being 15% abv.
The body is full and the carbonation is appropriately low.
They did a great job on this one. 15% abv, yet it drinks more like it's 10%. Sweet without being cloyingly so. Smooth and mouth coating. I still love it. 4.75/5

Backlog from October 11th
Sweet, boozy aroma. Taste has bourbon, chocolate, dark fruits, roasted malts and a little bit of oak in the finish. The booze is incredibly well hidden. I need more of this for sure. Phenomenal brew. 4.75/5
