Origin Story
10.0% Imperial Stout
Smokey yet smooth with chocolate notes, caramel tones with an aftertaste almost like liquorice.

As soon as I opened the can, a tonne of smells and flavours explode out. Strong alcohol, brown sugar, aniseed and oak. Pour was smooth and the body is blacker than black with no head. Mouthfeel is surprisingly light, very mild carbonation, it packs a punch but still goes down smooth. Taste is a little coffee with brown sugar, liquorice, aniseed and oak all rounded off with the burn of the 10%. Alot of experimental flavours, some will like it's not for me.

Down to the last three instalments of this origin story. Will the hero make it...only time will tell. It’s a good one!

ENGLISH: Aromas of dark chocolate, earth, aniseed and coffee escape when opening the can. A well roasted sweet malt flatters the palate with the help of cocoa, a subtle acidity, a bit of saltiness, a woody touch, all wrapped in an assumed bitterness that leaves room for a discreet smoky caramel aftertaste. Complex, composite, but not disparate. Extremely interesting! Enjoy with a good hard cheese.

I love that this is called Origin Story, because this is a last orders pint! Like any good comic book hero the origin comes after their status has been established. A good session should start and end on full flavour with a hit of smoke.
