It's a drizzly day, hence, something sunny that gives a glimpse of Down Under is a good choice. The beer colors fully foggy, deep dark yellow. The decent carbonation lays a cream-colored, fluffy, medium-bubbled head that grows up to one finger and dissipates soon to a neat whipped-creamy lacing adorning the surface for significantly long. The withdrawing foam marks the glass with multiple small downpouring dots. The scent emits a good amount of grapefruit pith and grassy dry hop pellets. Unfortunately I'm also getting an unwelcome note of onion that threatens to devastate the entire olfactory experience. The taste profile is rather tropical and appealingly zesty. The onion-like aroma is not entirely absent and disturbs the otherwise inviting medley of grapefruit pulp, slightly fermented peach and tart kumquat flesh. I can also depict carambola and relatively penetrative dry hops that feature bitter piney and grassy nuances. Basically the taste is okay but the vegetal hint disturbs me. Not sure if it's a sign of contamination or reaction of hops. The canning date seems to be 21 May 2020.a The body is light-medium. I anticipated more robust for 8.0 %. The beer ends with grapefruit peel and lemon zest, emerging pineapple and a tad carambola. The hoppy side is still grassy but the piney twist has eased its grip considerably. Onion has left the gustatory universe. The aftertaste rolls on tongue for quite some time. The mouthfeel is relatively juicy and zesty, even somewhat zippy. It's also unfortunately slightly vegetal and, hence, a bit musty. Moreover, the mouthfeel is medium-dry, crisp and faintly mouth-drying. The strongest links are the beautiful appearance and decent finish whereas the taste and especially fragrance reduce the rating.
