Beer #1700! Maple syrup, bourbon and oak in the aroma. Taste has huge maple syrup to start. Cinnamon and bourbon follows with the oak not far behind. Aftertaste is maple syrup and bourbon. Virtually no evidence of the high (15.3%) abv. The body is super thick and full, rich, luscious and mouth coating with carbonation that's appropriately low, as a great imperial stout should be. This is almost perfect. Amazing flavor and excellent viscosity. If the bourbon came through a little bit more, this would be world class. Damn close, though. 4.75/5
