Old-Style Belgian Wit, Mauritius

Flying Dodo Brewing Company is the first and so far the only Mauritian microbrewery. Of course, it's on my agenda.  🇲🇺 This beer represents flight 1/3. Cloudy, dark yellow beer with fizzy carbonation releases a pure white, silky head that climbs up to half a finger. The foamy lid descends slowly to a lower level but still adorns the surface for a substantially long time. The lacing rises toward the wall of the glass but leaves it otherwise untouched. The scent is quite expected: a good amount of wheat malt, lemon peel and a distant idea of coriander. The gustatory package includes bitter lemon zest, some lemon peel and a small bit of grapefruit. Coriander is not present anymore on the tongue. The body is quite light. The beer ends short with wheat malt, some wheat bun and a good pinch of lemon peel. The mouthfeel is thin, refreshing, summery and even a tad juicy. It also portrays truly remote Belgiany characteristics.
