John Biscotti, The King Of Brew York
12.0% Imperial Flavoured Stout / Imperial Pastry Stout
A pastry stout take on the traditional Italian biscuit. Banda-bing! Zesty orange cuts through the huge nuttiness of almond, hazelnut pistachio and Tonga beans to create the signature coffee break treat. He’s a goodfella!

Smooth, tasty stout. Orange and almond flavours. Hints of chocolate in the aftertaste. Doesn’t taste like a 12%. Very good.

This has everything going for it; silky-smooth mouthfeel, full on maltiness, good bittersweet balance and a nice alcoholic warmth. But that overbearing almond flavour just wipes everything out. It's all over the nose and it's all that's left on the finish - a synthetic marzipan twang that sits completely apart, yet buries all the good stuff in this otherwise solid pastry stout. Such a shame.

Rating this after the first few sips. Full mouth feel, bursting of almonds making think of amaretti biscuits. The alcohol strength compliments these flavours and makes you think of the liqueurs you get to dip your biscotti into. I’m going to go enjoy the rest of my pint!!

I was looking forward to this one but it’s too heavy on the marzipan for my tastebuds and doubt I will finish it 👎🏻

Fantastic. Loads of biscuit, syrup and orange. You’d never know the strength, far too drinkable.
