Relatively cloudy, deep amber beer with rich, sustained carbonation unlocks a dense, silky, cream-colored head that easily exceeds one finger. The foamy cap descends gradually to a thin lacing on top. The retreating foam marks the glass with thick splashes.
The fragrance is a bit awkward: faint dishcloth and a drop of squeezed orange.
The palate portrays massive medium-bitter malt with a distinct grainy punch. I also get strong hops, a bit of crackers, a piney note and faint resin. Quite appealing!
The body is light but not thin, which is commendable for 3.7 %. The beer finishes with penetrative dry-hopped malt, a strong grainy twist and a distant grassy touch, accompanied by spruce needles and a drop of resin. The aftertaste keeps the tastebuds active for some time.
The mouthfeel is light, nicely crisp, rather dry and mouth-drying. It's also appealingly old-school.
