Advent Calendar #️⃣1️⃣2️⃣ from yesterday. This and the next two beers will be interesting: they have been aged in different barrels. The first one is Bourbon barrel aged with coffee.
Oily black beer. Murky. Flat carbonation, a very oppressed bronze lacing that dies immediately.
Soft Bourbon, cane sugar, a bit of cacao nibs and smooth coffee can be observed in the fragrance. Quite nice although not yet a banger.
Coffee gains massively more intensity on the tongue. Soft. Sweet. Lactose? Bourbon is restrained but surprisingly subtle with a twist of cane sugar. Cacao nibs, a pinch of milk chocolate, oak barrel notes and a hint of molasses. Alcohol is absent. That's the whole gustatory profile.
The body is full. Almost. It is full. The end lifts the Bourbon higher in the hierarchy with distinct barrel nuances escorting it. Cacao and chocolate increase equally.
The mouthfeel is full, relatively deep, intense and barrel aged. It's subtle, round, smooth and warming. Balanced! Looking forward to the other editions.

Bourbontynnyreissä kypsynyttä Imperial Stoutia Ranskasta, eli O’ Clock Brewingin Baden Power IS Bourbon Barrel Aged.
