Farbe: sehr dunkles Braunschwarz, fast wie Kaffeesatz Duft: Zimt, Vanille, leichte Kaffee und Malznoten, erinnert mich irgendwie an Ciniminis Geschmack: im Antrunk sehr röstig und malzig, leicht wässrig in der Konsistenz, zur Mitte hin leichte Kaffee und typische Porteraromen, begleitet mit einem leicht zimtigen Aroma und relativ viel Kohlensäure, im Abgang leicht rauchig mit deutlicher Alkoholnote und Aromen von Kaffee und leichter Vanille. Fazit: Ich hätte ehrlich gesagt mehr erwartet. Die Zimtschnecke kommt nicht voll zur Geltung und selbst als normales Porter gesehen erfüllt es mich nicht mit Zufriedenheit. Zu kräftig im Abgang, zu wenig Aromen und zu stark carbonisiert. Leider nichts herausragend gutes.

Quite roasty and not too bunny. Scent was good though. Just a little share from a friend.

After enjoying a delicious late-night meal of tiny European smelt, I'm craving for a mouthwatering oversweet dessert. Mr. Cinnamon Bun sounds exactly like a wish come true.  😋 The beer pours fully impenetrable, exceptionally deep dark brown with a faint hue of raisin. The carbonation doesn't seem to be powerful but pouring a dollop in the glass ends up in a catastrophe: the fawn head wants to reach astronomical measures and of course spills on the table. It would be ridiculous to measure the number of fingers because the froth would probably exceed all measures had the glass been tall enough. Ok, after cleaning the small mess, the extraterrestrial foam collapses quickly and visibly down to a thin lacing on top. Surprisingly, no splatters can be detected afterwards on the glass. The scent brings a colossal disappointment. It's nothing what I expected and nothing what I was hoping it to be. I get a medley of strong yeast and some oat flour. I'm not too eager to sip but I'll gather myself and do it. Cinnamon comes through distinctly. It's very close to raw cinnamon: I've once tasted raw cinnamon straight from the tree, it's like the inner bark of the cinnamon tree. If you thought raw cinnamon has a nice pastry-like taste, you're wrong. It's harsh, of course strongly cinnamony, and astonishingly spicy. It has a similar effect to that of chili's capsaicin. In addition to cinnamon, I pick reasonable coarse licorice root, both oat flour and rye flour, a tad roasted malt and a decent amount of lactose. Vanilla I can't unfortunately find. The taste package remains lamentably rough and certainly lacks layers. It's also not desserty at all. The second disappointment with this beer has just joined the first one. The body is light-medium. It's the third disappointment. The ABV is 10 %, hence the body is a clear underperformance. The beer finishes with generous coarse licorice root, a good amount of burned malt and an transient hoppy touch. Where is the cinnamon? And lactose?? The regular-duration aftertaste has left the fourth disappointment to the tastebuds. The mouthfeel is rather strong, a bit spicy and slightly throat-warming. It's also spiced due to cinnamon. It's even a bit edgy, dry and roasty but not soft, not pastry-like, not desserty. I checked the best before date: it's 2 Dec 2020, so I guess I should be on the safe side. The experience has left me in confusion and unconvincement. This was my first ever beer by Sudden Death and I'm not anxious to buy a second one.

Je crois que c'est la première fois que je bois autre chose qu'un gros jus de houblon chez Sudden. Là, un Imperial oatmeal milkstout au roulé de cannelle et vanille: on sent bien la cannelle! C'est pas trop épais, la vanille reste discrète , mais c'est bien gourmand!

Avatessa pullon, alkaa olut vaahtoamaan voimakkaasti pullosta ulos, vaikka pullo on ollut monta kuukautta jääkaapissa. Väriksi muodostuu musta ja vaahto on tummanruskeaa. Tuoksu on voimakkaan kanelinen ja hennon hiivainen. Kaadettaessa lasiin vaahto häviää kokonaan. Korvapuusti tässä tosiaan maistuupi voimakkaasti, maku on laktoosisen pehmeä, kanelinen, vaniljainen, keskimakea, hennon hiivainen ja yllättävänkin tuhti. Paahteisuutta saisi olla mielestäni enemmän. Jotenkin tämä alkoholimäärä tuntuu mausteiden yhdistyessä jälkimaussa päälleliimatulta, keinotekoiselta ja kemikaaliselta, mutta toisaalta hiivaisuus tuo niin korvapuustin mieleen, että ei tämä huono ole. Lisänä hento toffeisuus, maltaisuus ja kitkeryys. Laktoosista taas miinusta!

Tää masituu kyl ihan uunituoreelle kanlipullalle. Pehmee, mut vähä pistää toivomaan lisää sellasta umph juttua
