Dragon's Milk Reserve: Coffee Chocolate
11.0% Imperial Stout
Rich, indulgent chocolate flavors are seductively punctuated with dark and roasty coffee bitterness.

I have been waiting a while for this to show up in my area and it did not disappoint. The best thing about the Dragon Milk line is the subtle flavor in the malts and hops giving you the chocolate and coffee vibe. It’s not just adding extract at the end. This is a great drinking beer and I would recommend it to anyone who loves an imperial stout. Well done New Holland!!!

The nose juggles between the chocolate and the bourbon. Seems every other time one of the two jumps in front of the other. A sip on the tongue brings forth the bourbon, then the chocolate. However, a bigger taste flips that to chocolate first then the bourbon. The coffee makes an appearance at the finish with the slightest of bitterness and little to no coffee flavor.

Bourbon, coffee and chocolate in the taste. Definitely a winner and has so far aged well. 4.5/5

Bourbon, chocolate and coffee in the taste. Absolutely delicious as usual. Nice final beer of the night and definitely a redemption from the beer I had before this. 4.5/5

Beer, meal, coffee dessert all rolled
into one. I am basically a Neanderthal with a taste for quality beer and am not one to taste the subtle changing nuances of anything. By the time I taste chocolate I swallow. The next sip or glug may give me a hint of coffee.. maybe... There goes that glass. I am pretty sure almost any liquid taste good coming out of an oak bourbon barrel. This is a great brew on a cool evening when you want a cigar and you're kind of hungry but don't want to stifle your buzz by actually eating. I'm pretty sure another 2 or 3 will be in my immediate future.

Delicious. Coffee and chocolate shine in this one with some bourbon and oak from the barrel aging. 4.5/5
