Decided to do a Christmas in July Advent Calendar for lagers (lagers, pilsners, bocks) as a way for me to try new beers. I'm going to do 1 lager each day of the month, 31 total. The reviews will likely be short and sweet for most of them. Christmas in July Day 1 This one is pretty tasty in a weird way, probably because I'm used to the malts and yeast on this side of the pond. Fairly clean finish. The more I sip the more I like it. 3.75/5

This one got lost in my refrigerator. Bready any caramel notes in the aroma. Taste has much of the same. Solid style offering that I'll likely pick up again next year. 4/5

I can already tell I'm not gonna like this one, but I already knew that. I'm not a fan of hoppy stouts and I smell an overwhelming amount of hops in the aroma. Some roasted malts and chocolate are present as well. Taste has roasted malts, chocolate and an overwhelming amount of hops. Not appropriate for the style in my opinion and definitely not something I enjoy. I figured I'd give this a try since I enjoyed the barrel aged version, but I could tell this would be hoppy at that point. Eh, not for me. 3/5

Delicious beer. I don't drink doppelbocks very often, but I seem to always enjoy them. 4/5
