Has a malty taste that has a nutty, chocolate taste. Nothing overwhelming or strong but nicely flavored.

I like cream ales. Never had an imperial version but after tasting this barrel aged one I can imagine what it’s like. Already heavy on the malt, the maple barrel ageing adds some complexity to the beer in a mellow caramel sweetness that runs throughout and a woodiness and slight buttery flavour that lingers. Aromas of smokey caramel(?)

An interesting one this, tastes like a cream-soda. Nice smooth sweet with no bitterness, easy to drink.

A style I’d like to see more of replicated in the U.K. Clean, crisp and refreshing but with that distinctive lack of bitterness synonymous with a cream ale. This isn’t the best example I’ve had but it’s not bad at all. All lager drinkers would do well to seek out a cream ale as there are many similarities. Cream Ales however have a mellow creaminess as opposed to a gassy watery beer.

Same beer, same sports bar, a year later... some nice mellow roast malt flavours going on. Very drinkable, first land based beer in over 3 weeks, tastes good!
