It's national Stout Day, so Ryan and I are going to Duo different stout beers. Mine is a beer I found from connecticut, an espresso with dark chocolate.
Really dark brown color, deep tan head that's frothy and lasting. Strong, sweet espresso coffee with dark chocolate in the background, exactly what I was expecting. Texture is soft and creamy, but it's not sticking to the mouth. The espresso coffee is powerful, really powerful. Coming in right behind it is the dark bittersweet chocolate. The espresso brings with it a very strong coffee bitterness. With each sip, the espresso becomes more powerful over the chocolate, until it is overwhelming it totally. As the beer warms, the finish, which had been little changed starts becoming very dry. It brings with it a small memory of the bittersweet dark chocolate that previously had been so strong.
Overall, this is a pretty good coffee stout, but the level of bitterness detracts from its other good qualities.

I have to say this is one of the most oatmeal tasting oatmeal stouts I’ve had. This has an oatmeal taste with some bakers chocolate, roasted malt and is slightly Smokey. It’s very thin
Overall it’s okay but nothing special.
