East London Brewing Company
England
chevron_leftchevron_right
Husband-and-wife team Stuart Lascelles and Claire Ashbridge-Thomlinson decided to quit the day jobs and start brewing late in 2011; they appear to have made the right decision. Elegant branding and approachable if unspectacular beers – both their staples, ELB Pale Ale and Foundation Bitter, come in at around the 4 per cent alcohol mark – have established them as one of the quiet stars of the London brewing scene.

Nice easy drinking Pale Ale. Subtlety hopped, fairly light. Expected something heavier, from the name…(especially as it’s named after the grid at the front of the old US steam trains used to deflect livestock on the tracks!!)

Interesting light bitter from East London.
Not very strong but very hopey.
Smooth or even very smooth and cheerful at the same time.
Good on its own or as a companion to some pub classic.

A great bitter from a great London brewer. Bitter, malty, with a drying finish.
