Délice ! Légère mais avec un peu de caractère et d’acidité

Looks like this beer has evolved from an American Amber Ale to a Red IPA. The older postings seem to be American Ambers while the latest ones are Amber IPAs. Mine is an Amber IPA. The beer wears a clear, copper to deep copper gown. The carbonation behaves decently and creates a creamy big-bubbled head that grows two fingers tall. The retention lives only for a short time but the lace ring is really generous even after some time. I thought that Red IPAs were not my favorites but immediately when I start to inhale those nuances, I change my mind: I enjoy an attractive set of caramel, ample malt, toffee and faint nut that are beautifully balanced with moderate grassy hops. Promising, I must say! And the taste then. Here we go! Soft nuances reach my tastebuds. I pick hefty caramel, first and foremost. Amber and caramel malts are obvious. A pinch of toffee, remote cacao nibs, a faint nutty note and distinct grassy hops complete the gustatory journey. The package is quite soft and appealingly balanced and not at all as edgy as many Red IPAs tend to be. Me likes! 🤎 The body is medium or slightly more. Like a plus. Very welcome for 5.8 %. The beer ends with one or two decimals crisper and more grassy flavors than before. Otherwise, the taste is not that different. The mouthfeel is medium, soft, smooth, a bit crisp and absolutely balanced. Very quaffable! Maybe I will start to like Red IPAs from now on!
