🥳 It’s once again time to move on to the next thousand. I’ve now tasted 9,000 different beers! 🥳 A very dark brown beer pours into the glass, forming a few centimeters of head that disappears quickly. The aroma is full of the whisky barrel used here, along with sweetness, rye and a hint of red wine. A lovely aroma. The mouthfeel is medium carbonated, rich, sweet, balanced, smooth and easy to drink. Body could be a little bit thicker. The flavor brings sweetness, rye whisky, the oakiness of the barrels, fruitiness, vanilla and red wine, plus a touch of sugar. The aftertaste is sweet and smooth with plenty of rye. A pleasantly sweetish red wine and whisky character lingers in the mouth for a long time. This is a very good beer, but body could be thicker. This is balanced and rich, with barrel aging done extremely well. A diverse flavor palette. The red wine element works beautifully here. ______________________ 🥳 On jälleen tullut aika siirtyä seuraavalle tuhatluvulle. Nyt on siis maistettuna 9000 eri olutta 🥳 Lasiin kaatuu oikein tumman ruskeaa olutta, joka tekee muutaman sentin vaahdon, joka katoaa nopeasti. Tuoksussa on runsaasti tuota tässä käytettyä viskitynnyriä, sekä makeutta, ruista ja hieman punaviiniä. Ihana tuoksu. Suutuntuma on keskihiilihappoinen, runsas, ryhdikäs, makea, tasapainoinen, pehmeä ja helposti juotava. Runko voisi olla vähän paksumpi. Maussa on makeutta, ruisviskiä, tynnyrin tammisuutta, hedelmäisyyttä, vaniljaa ja punaviiniä, sekä hieman sokeria. Jälkimaku on makea ja pehmeä, jossa on runsaasti ruista. Suuhun jää pitkäksi aikaa pyörimään makeahko punaviininen ja viskinen maku, joka on oikein miellyttävä. On kyllä ihan huippu olut. Runko voisi toki olla vähän paksumpi. Todella tasapainoinen, runsas ja tuo tynnyröinti on onnistunut tosi hyvin. Monipuolinen makupaletti. Punaviini toimii tässä tosi hyvin.

Kuohkea 3 sormen paksuinen vaahto kastanjan ruskeassa sameassa, virkistävässä ja kuivaavassa oluessa. Johan on tiukan greippinen WC IPA. Kuiva ja vahva. Greippimäinen, raikas ja sitrusmainen.

Barrel Aged Advent Calendar Day #8 Canned on 11-19-2020 Sweet malts, rye spiciness and bourbon in the aroma. Taste has bourbon and sweet malts first, followed by the rye. Some oak starts to show up in the finish and lingers into the aftertaste. The body is full and mouth-coating with an appropriately low amount of carbonation. This one really wowwed me when I first had it, and while it's never been quite the same in subsequent tastings, this is still a damn fine beer. I'm glad it made its way back to the calendar after a 3 year hiatus. 4.5/5

Barrel Aged Advent Calendar Day #7 Canned on 10-07-2020 Bourbon and chocolate notes stand out the most in the aroma. Taste has delicious bourbon hitting first, followed by dark chocolate notes, roasted malts and oak. Full body with low carbonation. Some people say this beer is on par with Bourbon County Brand Stout, if not better. I'm not sure I'd go that far. Given the choice, I'm reaching for the Bourbon County, but this is definitely an excellent and worthy substitute. 4.75/5

Mukava tuoksu, nätti väri ja maussa hieno yhdistelmä inkivääriä ja mustikkaa. Tasapainoinen ja sopivan hapan. Iso peukku tälle.

Barrel Aged Advent Calendar Day #2 Canned 11-3-2021 Vanilla, bourbon and oak in the aroma. Taste has bourbon first, followed by vanilla and oak. That's all I'm getting, but the blend of the 3 flavors is phenomenal. The bourbon is flavorful and provides a noticeable warmth without being overwhelming. The vanilla shows up next and lingers into the aftertaste. The oak comes in towards the end of the mid-palate and lingers into the finish. The body is full with a medium-ish amount of carbonation. A little bit less carbonation would make this even better. Very well made stout. We're off to a great start! 4.75/5
