A delightfully full flavoured beer, rich to the palate and displaying a rounded fruity aroma, with hints of dark fruit. Pours a dark copper-red colour with an aroma of blackcurrant. The taste is rich with a dry nutty finish.

A pale, delicately fruity and refreshing golden ale with a moderate bitterness and a spicy noble aroma. This beer successfully marries the traditional Goldings and Fuggles hops with its American offshoot Williamette to create the perfect beer!

A subtly balanced amber bitter which is hoppy to the nose and malty on the palate-a classic beer with a taste of fresh malt and soft fruit.

A light, crisp golden pale ale brewed with extra pale malt alongside a combination of English, American and New Zealand hops that deliver a zesty citrus taste with faint notes of tropical fruit. Perfect to drink on a warm summer day.

A dark chestnut coloured ale full of roast malt flavours complemented with superb dry hop aromas. Pours a dark ruby colour with an inviting smell of roasted barley. The taste has flavours of soft dark fruit with a rich finish. Considering this is only 2.8% this is packed full of flavour. A top session beer!

I’ve bought the Hook Norton range of beers and will drink them in order of strength. First I’m trying this low volume session ale. Pours a clear pale colour with a zesty aroma. The taste is light and refreshing with a hint of maltiness. Not bad despite being only 2.5%. Low in strength but high in flavour!

JDW Beer Festival, Spring 2026.
Red coloured ale. Hoppy with fruit notes. Hint of toffee and a bitter finish.
Decent enough.

Brewed by Hook Norton for the JDW beer festival, originally from Brazil. It has a nice fruity aroma with a definite tropical fruit twist. The taste profile is the same, but with a subtle hoppiness mixed in. There is a slight sweetness to finish, but it is enjoyable. Smooth and easy-drinking session ale that's totally quaffable. Overall, a decent drink with plenty of plus points.
