Back to Fermentage. This time a Madeira barrel aged barleywine. Sounds like a treat!
Opaque, jet black beer. Obscure carbonation, a subdued dark creamy lacing.
Fig is – surprisingly – the biggest input of the scent. Caramel, toffee, dried plum, date and cold-brew coffee complete the olfactory journey. Very attractive!
The taste is "dark" with immense barrel notes. I 🤎 this! Madeira big time. Date beats fig now. Dark plum, prune, caramel, coffee, cold-brew coffee, dark malt, milk chocolate, cacao nibs and a tweak of raisin. Oh mama! This delivers!!
The sensation is big, I mean mellow. Or full. Or whatever. Robust anyway. Slightly sticky, deep, rich, intense, soft and smooth. Relatively complex. Barrel aged like never before. Rather vinous even. A slow sipper! 🤎🤎🤎

Wife's choice. Looks insane! Impenetrable, deep red purple beer. Carbonation? Most likely, not really. The head is negligible. Strawberry is enormous in the scent. Blueberry, blackcurrant, mango and wheat bun, as well. The taste...? Oh my goodness!! Strawberry mash like never before! Jesus Lord, is this heaven? Very natural. Blueberry, mango, apricot, a hint of vanilla and wheat bun complete the gustatory journey. Crazzyyy!! This is extraordinarily smoothie-like. Deep, rich, full, superthick, mashy and marginally tart. Is this true? ❤️💜❤️

Another brewery in this industrial zone of Lisbon. Interesting beers on tap here!
This is obviously my first Koji / Ginjo Beer. Normally, they are brewed with sake yeast or enzymes. This particular sample contains rice. Sounds interesting!
Translucent gold is the appearance. A restrained, pure white head with a silky texture and height of one finger. A very fruity and floral scent: yuzu, mandarin, orange pulp, a bit of meadow flowers, cereal and impotent biscuit. A tad sugary? Pretty much the same package on the tongue, too. This is supposed to contain wasabi, as well, but I can only imagine it in the air, not on the tongue. The sensation is light, floral, juicy and refreshing. Quite an innovation, I must say.

Best before 2028/06. BA Barley Wine which still have taste of Barley Wine (many barrels make this style resembling Stouts). Dried fruits, notes of caramel. Dry with wood notes. High bitterness, at the beginning even unpleasant, becomes better with warming. Strong and you feel that when drinking, yet not boozy.

Samea keltainen.
Imelää hedelmäisyyttä tuoksussa.
Makean hapokas kärki makean hiivaisella maltaisuudella. Mukavan pehmeä ja hiivaisen humalamehuinen jälkimaku.
