Dark orageish. A sweet fruity scent. Banana, mango, biscuit. Alcoholic. Not disturbing though. Fruity also on the tongue. Very sweet. Marginally boozy.

Here we are again!! Finnish Sahti Championships 2023. Nakkila, go go! This is our third time in a row to attend this good mood event. We are not participating in the competition itself this time either, haven't really had time to experiment and brew anything because of the massive renovations in our house. This time we will only concentrate on tasting sahtis made by the contestants. Almost all competition sahtis and many others, as well, are available in the parking area and served from the trunk of the car — the so called "trunk sahti" (takakonttisahti). Everything is free, of course!  🍻 I will do short reviews only in the same way as last year since this is a supersocial event. No time to blabber in writing  😅  I'll focus on what is good, what could be improved, what is unique, etc. The first Sahti is hazy brown. Sweet scent, as if a bit of rye. The taste is lovely, rye-dominant. Sweet. Juniper can be detected as well. Full and sticky.

Hau, hau, then ho (only a Finn can understand this 😂). The scent reveals it all: flour, wort. Raw. And the flavor cocktail fails big time: Tart with a capital T. Citrusy. A bit stale. Off-flavor clearly. Loser. Sorry for the host but this sucks.
