Made (or at least canned) for the Royal Navy’s rugby league team; well appreciated after an afternoon guesting for their Masters team today

Another absolutely brilliant beer from Powder Monkey Brewing. This is a top-notch pale ale with a wonderful citrus kick in an immensely refreshing pint.

This is a superb beer from a superb brewery. Everything they produce is a winner as far as I'm concerned. Well made, by people who clearly have a wealth of knowledge and a passion for brewing that you can taste in every drop, anchor or anything else!

Almost forgot to rate this, from last week… Caramel malt, bitterness up front and assertive. Dries out really quickly and leaves a deep citrus and resinous taste in the mouth. Almost nailed the style but there’s a bit too much astringency evident in the aftertaste.

I could have quaffed a number of these, really nice. The bready character is akin to a hot-cross bun without the fruit, doughy and sweet. Bitterness isn’t assertive, it’s just there and in the background. A fruity finish, at first I thought this was from the yeast but have seen that it’s dry hopped. Great stuff!

Caramel malt backbone, soft in the mouth. Sticky pineapple, intense marmalade flavours. Nice stuff!

It’s a strong start with the beer advent this year. A right tasty beer beautifully balanced. Full of hops and brimming with fruity brilliance. Delicious brew 😋
