The original Brewery was set up in 1905, named after the Brewery Manager. In 1960 brewing ceased and was not in operation again until 1980, this time on a smaller plant within the old brewery site. In 2017 the Brewery was closed and beers now brewed at Castle Eden. In 2019 the Brewery was purchased by Kitwave a wholesaler from North Tyneside, the name changed to confuse everone with the Greene King version, beers currently being produced at Castle Eden
