Fell for the marketing, should have stuck with a castle. Had a kinda grim after taste that I can't put my finger on. Pleased for the Zambians and all that but not one of their better brews.

Probably my last 🇿🇲 beer this time. This is real craft. I've been looking for these in places but without success. The brewery itself is located in the outskirts of Lusaka but looks like it doesn't have a taproom. Funny, my hotel bar happens to have this Amber Ale. The beer is clear and amber. No surprise, ha? Retention is substantially long as a dense, creamy head exceeds two fingers and is extraordinarily long-lasting. The sluggishly contracting foam leaves just a few marks on the glass. Caramel malt, a bit of multigrain bread, dried peach and a whisper of orange peel emanate nicely to my nose. Balanced. The gustatory identity is also balanced: I can pick caramel malt, dried apricot, dried orange peel and a shy hoppy touch. The bready component is negligible. All in all, easy, definitely not crisp, and approachable. The body is light. The finish doesn't really differ from what the actual taste gives. Only faint yeast pops up a little. The aftertaste is in a run-down ghost town, no chance for love, no sign of life, just wild dogs howlin' in the night. The mouthfeel is light, clean, very balanced and gluggable. It's certainty easy like I said. I anticipated at least a bit of crispness but it's practically absent. Maybe too easy to my tastebuds but works obviously well in the nascent craft beer environment.

Nice African craft beer. Amber ale of nice richness and a bit IPA-like hint of bitterness.
