Having the third beer on a flight of three at True Anomaly Brewing. Enjoying ourselves before the Astros baseball game. Difficult to get much aroma from the top of this pastry glass, a dark roasted malt is all. The flavor starts with a soft sweet deep roasted malt, raw undiluted molasses and... that's all. Finish boldly adds a bitter old coffee trait while maintaining the sweet molasses. Rare beer that improves with each swallow but the molasses slowly dominates the bitter coffee. Pretty good 👍.

At True Anomaly Brewing having an interesting brown ale. Interesting setup in this Brewery. Is 6 oz only a taster? Clear Brown with a touch of red. Difficult to get aroma from such a small glass but has deep roasted sweet malt. Taste has sweet brown sugar malt, dark roast, hop bitterness. Finish becoming dry. Soft texture. Interesting but only lightly sweet malt and plenty of hop bitterness. Better than average but not my style.

Visiting True Anomaly Brewing before tonight's Astros baseball game in Houston. First beer on a merciful flight of three. Lightly hazy reddish orange color. Sour lemon aroma. Taste immediately gives lemon combined with the flowery taste of the hibiscus. It's interesting but not one that I will try again.

At Equal Parts Brewing having a special edition beer. Strong bourbon barrel aroma with a dark fruit. Almost no head. Flavor is trying immediately for the elusive 5.0. The Blanton's Bourbon Barrel is first but not alone. A raisin and brown sugar rum barrel refuses to be overlooked. Cinnamon gently caresses the entire process. Smooth as silk, soft but not heavy. Finish has all this and the alcohol builds with each sip. Incredible! And unique! OK, I surrender.

Visiting Equal Parts Brewing after a great meal at Nifa's. Pre Astros ball game visit. Totally opaque, most hazy IPA ever. Strong citrus aroma. Flavor brings pineapple, grapefruit and something very acidic. Tamarillo fruit is new to me. Crazy flavor addition, tomato-like and maybe guava. A new sweet experience, a blast of tangy and sweet tart. Totally unique.

No Duo today, in Texas with my son-in-law to enjoy these beers together. Very pale yellow and hazy. Short Whitehead, doesn't last. Very mild citrus aroma. Has the flavor of an IPA but much milder. Citrus of lemon and mild hop bitterness. Too mild for me. Very drinkable but lacks the punch of a 4.6% alcohol beer. Lemonade has more kick.

Going to try out this well received black lager from Houston Texas. Medium-high tan head, disappearing quickly. Dark brown clear color. Aroma of dark malt with chocolate notes. Texture is thin and soft for so much flavor. Flavor is strong roasted malt. Some caramel hiding in the background. No chocolate here. Has earthy characteristics, a little woodsy would best describe it. A hopped bitterness during the finish combines to hints of lemon. Overall this is a good beer.
