Ultimate side by side beer review. Two Coop pale lagers, one is 4.2% 🇫🇮 (left) and the other 4.3% 🇵🇱 (right). The reason must be the replacement of several Finnish private labels by Coop products. The 4.2% was in one series while the 4.3% represented the other. I'm not convinced that both products will survive in the long run. Both beers look alike: clear gold. The 4.2% portrays a bolder head and longer retention. The remaining lace ring is really thin with 4.3% whereas the 4.2% displays at least something to admire. The nose (4.2%) gives pale malt and a slam of corn. Very industrial. The stronger (4.3%) version is different: biscuit, pale malt and butter. Diacetyl? The gustatory profile of the milder edition offers weak pale malt and a grassy hoppy vibe. Nothing more. The bigger version is tastier: butter, popcorn, bread, malt but thinner hops. It looks like the winner starts to be found. The body is modest versus light. The end is also very different: the smaller one dies almost immediately while the bigger sister is more characterful. And buttery. And longer. The 4.2% mouthfeel is weak, thin, industrial, bulky and impotent. The 4.3% shows diacetyl (which I love 💛), more character, slight crispness and balance in my opinion). Sorry my fellow country folks but 🇵🇱 wins without any doubt, by an astonishingly sizeable margin. P.S. Neighbor's cat wants to remain neutral to the contestants.

Vaalea Lager. Melko mitäänsanomaton. Ei paljoa maistu. Sellainen väljä saunajuoma.

Hirveetä litkua, ensimmäinen olut mikä menee viemäristä alas.

Järkyttävää kuraa. Ei ollut edes hintansa arvoinen vaikka edullinen olikin.

Hieman poikkeava maku, ei silti paha.

Kyllähän tätä juo saunajuomana tai makkaran kyytipoikana. Aika laimea maku, mutta ihan hyvä perusolut. Ja edullinen.
