Golden, yeasty scent, good mix of sweet and wheaty sour.

Golden, fizzy, yeasty bouquet, malty taste almost heading towards barley wine - but very welcome on a steamy summer day. Based on an Oktoberfest Altbier - one way to go to Munich and stay at home. (Just seen my rating has gone up 0.6 points since I last tasted it and I’ve no idea where I got the fruit cake flavours last time! It shows how a beer’s taste can vary depending on circumstances)

Clean, crisp, easily drinkable pale ale, with a good malt base from Maris Otter malt and flavoured with Rakau hops. Really nice session beer at 4.2%.

Full flavoured malty and hoppy red IPA with a lingering smoky, malty aftertaste. Easy drinking strong session beer at 4.8%.

A smooth dark mild ale with dark chocolate notes and English hops to give a slight bitter aftertaste. Easily drinkable and very good session beer at 4.6%.

Dark golden colour, flavour is like a fruit cake. Quite a heavy beer for me.

Cloudy but a bit bland… but then I read the instructions on the bottle to pour it over ice and lemon. This transformed it into a much fuller bodied tastier beer.

I'm no fan of bitters and this one tastes like Christmas chocolate. I'm also no fan of Brexit.
