I skip beer #5 of the flight since I seem to have had it before. I'll go directly to the free glass offered by the bartender. This is a Historical Beer, the recipe already gone but revived. He says this is a bit like wheat ale, a bit sour and a bit like an IPA.
Sounds like a weirdo. I'm all in!! 👍🏻
Yellow foggy. Beautiful. A dense, clean white head reaches one finger and paints the glass seriously.
A yeasty scent. A bit like brettanomyces but then again, different. Lemon and passionfruit. Wheat malt, for sure. And lactic acid.
The taste is light, citrusy and absolutely yeasty. Wheat malt is obvious. Lemon zest and pith, carambola, raw pineapple. Quite nice!
The body is light. The finish is fruity and zesty, slightly sour and wheaty.
The sensation is light, zesty, yeasty, a tad musty, earthy, slightly tart. Unique. Not sure what makes this a historical beer, could actually be a Farmhouse IPA. Anyway, the most unique and inviting beer tonight.

Flight 2/5. Looks cloudy copper. A moldy off-white head.
An interesting fragrance, not necessarily the most inviting one: a wisp of smoke and cough syrup. Both the same and new components land on the tongue: a suggestion of smoke, licorice, aniseed, roasted malt, some spice, like nutmeg? Herbal. Definitely unpredictable.
The body is light. The finish offers licorice, roasted malt, smoke and a spiced amendment, be it nutmeg then.
Feels light, roasty, smoky, marginally spiced, herbal and lip-glueing. Difficult to say much about this. On one hand, I like the unpredictability but, on the other, I wouldn't return to this beer, had I a chance.
