Wimbledon is traditionally associated with tennis, but By The Horns are closer physically and spiritually to the late, lamented Wimbledon greyhound track. The names of their beers - such as Diamond Geezer, a punchy red ale – tells you much about their philosophy: inspired by American brewers like Colorado’s Odell Brewing, they mix craft beer philosophy with a down-to-earth south London approach. In an area not overburdened with breweries, they’re a godsend.

Pours golden coloured with a thin white head. Easy drinking, but very watery. Not sure. May have to be reassessed.

Up there with the best IPAs. Light and hoppy and tastes great. Only reason it's not getting fullmarks is the rather lumpy sediment which you can see in my photo. Luckily I'm not squeamish but I reckon plenty of people would be put off by that as it looks like a lump of phlegm or a small slug sitting at the bottom of my glass.
