I bought deliberately this beer to check in my first ever Malt Liquor. I don't want to deny that my expectations were actually quite low. The beer has a clear, golden color, resembles very much standard English tea. The head on top is white, standard soft and rises about two fingers high. Scent is really unappealing with sweet, sugary, thin malty fragrance. The taste lies clearly on the sweet side. It portrays standard pale malt with sweetened twist and a note of hidden honey. Hops were absent. Alcohol -- completely against my prejudices and despite the ABV of 8.0 % -- remains entirely in control. No slightest sign of any booziness. The body is, though, fairly light. The beer ends with sweet, malt-juicy aftertaste that vanishes quickly from mouth. Mouthfeel is surprisingly light, somewhat sappy, even soft-drink-like, artificial but manageable. A big bottle, a big ABV. However, against all odds, I must confess that it wasn't as horrible as I first thought. It's actually quite manageable if you believe that more is more. For me, one glass was enough. Note: the barcode leads to another "Colt 45" with a bit lower ABV.
