After getting a foot of snow, still snowing and it also being bitter cold (12 degrees) I decided to go to the dark side today.
This is a session stout. This has dark roasted malt, bakers chocolate, light chicory with a hint of licorice and dark bread. Has an almost medium bitterness. Finishes dry.
For a session this was very tasteful. A tad watery but I guess you can expect that. I’m impressed how good it was.
Dark and stormy 11/12/25 listed on the bottom of the can.

For my second West Coast Pilsner, this hits you with lemon zest up front with melon and white grape coming along soon after. I got just a hint of passion fruit towards the end. Very light at best on the hoppy side and don’t pick up much on the malty side. Has just a tinge of a chalky aftertaste.
The compare: This one was different and had a more unique taste. The Expanse was traditional West Coast style (not that they are traditional beers) with the general citrus and tropical fruit taste.
Although this was a little different I found the Expanse to be just a little better. It was close though. I wouldn’t stay away from either of them.
Canned 9/4/25
Now onto a Pilsner Urquell

Heading to a beer fest. Stopped for something to eat and a beer.
Has a bready and caramel malt. Has some floral and slightly spicy hops.
A pretty decent Marzen style.

This has a medium+ roasted malt that is lightly charred. Has some very light chocolate. Has some hints of coffee to it.
It’s just a good Porter.

This one is fruity and really juicy. I pick up pineapple, mango, tangerine but there is a lot more there. I would call it a muddled combo of juicy fruit as the best description. Has some very light pine and cannabis. Bitterness barely makes it to the light category. It even has some very light malty sweetness to it.
All I can say is yum

This has a candied taste that is orange and pineapple. Has a very light hoppy bitterness. Has some very light caramel malt. Leans just a little bit more to the hoppy side but is well balanced.
Overall a little sweet for me but still a good beer.

Has really dank taste with some tangerine, pineapple with hints of papaya. Has a light++ bitterness. Finishes a little in the dry side. Medium thickness.
Overall just a really nice, dank, fruity and hoppy NE style. Nothing not to like.
