Glad I bypassed the pub up the road and found this place, as locals were saying how poorly run it was. And to be treated to this gem which we rarely see in Portsmouth too, so win win for me!
Love this beer, it’s everything you want in a stout. Roast malts dominate, coffee and dark chocolate flavours everywhere. Fruity bitterness and a smooth hop bite at the end. It’s medium bodied and not heavy at all, so all round a well balanced, dare I say it, thirst quenching beer. 🍻

Bittersweet with a malty finish, much like my ex wife

Onto my third one of these. I knew that I'd already tried it but thought it was longer ago. Still a cracker of a drink. Same details as before; fair play on the consistency of the beer. Still a good session ale that's smooth and easy to drink.

A decent drink with a nice citrusy aroma, it has a creamy mouthfeel with a pleasant citrus fruit taste. Slight hoppiness is mixed in, leading to a nice malty backbone. There is a slight bitter finish, but it is enjoyable. Smooth and easy-drinking ale.

Still a decent drink. Same details as before. An enjoyable drink and a good session ale, even at the ABV, but steady on there, people, as it's very quaffable.

Quite flavourful and at a banging price in my local Conservative Club.
