Driftwood is one of my all time local favourite breweries and I was very excited to see this milk stout from them. The team that have designing labels is fantastic. It's hard to show you all the artwork because most of their labels wrap all most all the way around. Anyway, about this delicious dark brew... I want to wax on all poetic about this, but it doesn't need me to prove how good it is. Dark rich brown with good healthy foamy head. The nose is equal parts smooth coffee, light chocolate and mellow roast barley. There are some hops in the aroma as well but they are secondary. The palate and body are full, rich, and creamy with a nice little tingle on the tongue from carbonation and hops working together to balance the sweetness. The flavours are very much like the aroma. Equal parts chocolate, coffee and roast barley. The sweetness seems to lend a perceived strength to the chocolate, and the roast barley seems to have a small hint of smokiness. This is a very nice milk stout. I dig it. Oh and the interstellar object it is named for is also cool. Didn't know about it till this beer. Once again beer is educational.
