This IPA is as black as any stout.ive had with just the smallish speck of red showing from the flashlight test.
When first it whips up a large frothy tan coloured head. The foam shrinks down to a respectablly thick lasting layer that leaves sticky spotty lacing.
The nose is treated to a full cast of the usual players. Burnt nut, roast coffee bean, a small dollop of chocolate, some earthy tree bark and of course a large piney hops presence.
The flavour profile is more hops forward, piney and resinous. The malts come in as a more burnt grainy taste with wheat and something that coats the mouth with a silky sensation. It has a medium to thin body and plenty.of flavour. It's a decent offering.
