Our first brew in the series is VP01, an 11% imperial stout that we have matured in first fill bourbon barrels for 6 months. The resulting beer is big, rich and bursting with flavour.

Getting chocolate and some coffee on the nose. There's also a slight bit of bourbon and oak in the aroma. Very smooth. Getting coffee first in the taste. Chocolate and vanilla show up next to add to the complexity. The vanilla really smooths this one out. The bourbon is there, but the alcohol is hidden pretty well. Very well balanced stout. It's a shame I only have one. 4.25/5
