Aviator 4.1%, Kelham Island Brewery, England

Aviator
4.1% Bitter
A golden bitter, a style of ale once extremely popular in Sheffield. Brewed with the finest English malts and a blend of British and Slovenian hops, to give a smooth, yet pleasantly bitter palate with a floral/herbal aroma.

Billed as a "golden bitter". In reality this is an amber ale with some very slight almost honey golden ale hints (or am I imagining it?) At first sup it seems very smooth and I momentarily thought 'session job'. Then ........ massive tangy aftertaste kicked in. Why do brewers do this? It annoys the hell out of me - create a perfectly decent brew, but leave a massive bloody lingering unpleasant aftertaste in the mix to spoil things.
