Kedr
9.5% Imperial Stout

0,33l bottle from beer tulip. Dark brown and dirty looking, slightly transparent, hazy. No foam. Delicious sweet chocolate and fudge smell with notes of pine. Pretty high carbonation. Nice mouthfeel, could be a tad thicker for my taste. First sip is very piney and with a lot of resin. Very different from every other imperial stout I've tasted before this. Some chocolate and coffee in mid notes, no fudge. Bitter pine aftertaste. Overall taste is very dominantly pinecone. I didn't know what the name Kedr (Russian) meant, but apparently it means cedar (setri in Finnish) and you can definitely taste it in this beer. It has been brewed with cones of cedar. Very loyal to the name. Very interesting one, maybe a little bit too cedarish, but points for the originality.
