Bourbon Barrel Aged Plead the 5th
11.0% Imperial Stout
This beer is a big and full bodied Imperial Stout aged in bourbon barrels with lots of roasted malts, but very balanced with heavy hops. Brewed with a top secret root, this beer has an amazingly complex flavor that you must wait for.

Eiliseltä.
Oikein hyvä tyylin edustaja. Perinteinen. Ei moitteita. Perusversio juotu 2019 ja pidin siitäkin.

Osa Pienthuasist Care Pakage 1/6:sta. Ripauksenverran vaaleaa vaahtoa erittäin tummanpunaruskean hieman valoaläpipäästävän oluen yllä joka tuoksuu bourbonisen tammisen lämmittävän paahteisen alkoholisen maltaiselle ja maistuu kuivan suklaisen lakritsisen paahteisen kahvisen luumuisen rusinaisen lämmittävän lempeän maltaiselle, neljä ja vartti alaspäin. PE: ei ol. Tölkitetty: 12/08/22... luultavasti.

Jonkinasteinen pettymys.

Very tasty. Bourbon and chocolate on the nose. In order, bourbon, chocolate, hops then roasted malt on the buds.

Barrel Aged Advent Calendar Day #20
2017 vintage
Delicious bourbon, chocolate and coffee in the aroma. Taste has bourbon, chocolate, roasted malts and slight coffee notes. It tastes like it's starting to sour a little bit, which dark horse has had problems with around this time period.
The body is medium-full with a lower amount of carbonation.
Still has really good flavors underneath, but the slight sourness is a bit off-putting and brings the score down. 3.5/5

Barrel Aged Advent Calendar beer Day #6
2017 vintage, brewed on 12-1-17
Bourbon, dark fruits, chocolate and light vanilla in the aroma. Taste has strong bourbon, coffee, some vanilla and dark fruits coming in towards the mid-palate. Upon warming up more, a decent amount of oak is showing up in addition to the aforementioned flavors. Very tasty and has held up well in the cellar. 4.5/5

Bourbon hits the nose first. Following this, I'm getting chocolate and a faint bit of coffee and oak from the barrel aging. The coffee and roastiness is showing up more as this warms. Taste has bourbon first, much like the aroma. Coffee and chocolate follow this. Not much oak showing up at this point. The dark fruits i got in the base version is present, but not as prominent, but show up more as this warms. 11% abv is hidden pretty well. Mouthfeel and carbonation are right on par with the base beer. A bit boozier than the base version, but that's to be expected with bourbon barrel aging. I can't quite give it a 4.5, but a high 4.25/5
