Golden ale matured over gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Not the standard "Christmas" beer. The spices seemed more mature, the flavour more of a historical representation rather than an emotional one. First beer of substance I have had in a while, so it took me a bit by surprise. Usually a big fan of Innis & Gunn, this one fell short for me. Great taste and big surprises when first drinking it, but by the end I wasn't wanting more. It left me a bit more bloated than I thought it should as well. Glad i tried it, probably wouldn't try it again.

Amazing spiced flavor surprised me, as I was expecting a kitschy gimmick beer. But this definitely lives up to the high standards of the signature series Innis and Gunn limited specialty brews. As a sidenote, even your burps will smell lovely afterward!
