Introduced by the Vikings, spruce and pine ales were very popular in northern Scotland until the end of the 19th century. Complex, rich and tawny, Alba is a 'triple' style ale, brewed to a traditional highland recipe using sprigs of spruce & pine collected every spring.

Very good and refreshing pine ale, I've never had anything quite like it before. Didn't even notice the high ABV until the bottle was done, it was balanced so well.

Not as sweet as the Nollaig, slightly more bitter with a fair kick at 7.5%. Still very tasty.
