Wild Sour Series: Cranberry Criek
5.0% Sour / Wild Ale
Our non-traditional Cranberry Criek evolved by merging tart cranberries with sweet cherries, normally associated with a traditional Kriek, but in a kettle sour beer that is wonderfully intricate, balanced, fruity and tart. We then dry-hopped this crimson-colored beer for a touch of citrus aroma and flavor, adding another layer of complexity and a perfect finish. Cheers!

Yksinkertaisen hapan ja marjainen, sopivan hapokas janojuoma. Saunajuomanakin voisi toimia, kuten muistaakseni joku saman sarjan happamista on jo tehnytkin.

I'm not a fan of sours, but a lady at the beer store recommended I try this one on Thanksgiving, so here we are. Light cranberries in the aroma. Taste has the same thing. Cranberries are there, but in a subtle way, along with a decent amount of sourness that isn't too crazy that starts to fade in the late mid-palate. Definitely not my favorite style, and I probably won't buy it again, but it's not bad at all and I don't regret trying it. 3.5/5

Semihazy, strawberry-juice-colored beer with timid, hasty carbonation releases a meager, white lace ring that settles soon down to nil. The olfactory provision is rich in berries: cranberry, rowanberry, a bit of sour cherry and faint aronia constitute the scent. The tongue is guided in the same direction with extremely sour cranberry, bags of rowanberry and distant sour cherry, followed by a whisper of rosehip. The body is light. The beer ends short with a gustatory palette that narrows significantly to cranberry and rowanberry being the only berries left. The mouthfeel is extraordinarily tart, slightly puckering and strongly acidic. Generally speaking, it's fairly simple and straighforward -- the deep tartness saves a lot of the experience that would have otherwise been quite a standard sour ale.

Lajityypin edustajana varsin kelvollinen. Ei liian makea, ei liian marjaisa.
