This is the Ugandan licensed version of the Kenyan edition of Guinness Foreign Extra Stout. The beer pours opaque, jet black with rich, short-lived carbonation. The head colors light fawn and bears a soft fluffy, a bit creamy texture. The head rises up to three fingers, descends slowly to a thin creamy layer on the surface and paints the glass with really many thin coverings on the wall. The scent displays dark, a bit sweet and medium-roasted malt, faint mocha and an interesting lingering note of licorice. The tongue loves the light-sour, strong, dark malt that puts forward a somewhat dry and a tad roasted nuance. I also find a good amount of licorice, much more distant strong black coffee and faint tar. Furthermore, I can depict a little injection of soot and a hair-thin boozy note. The body is relatively robust. The beer ends with hefty, dark-roasted malt, loads of licorice, a nice punch of roasted coffee beans and a dollop of extraordinarily strong espresso. Soot, bonfire and tar accompany in the distance. The aftertaste keeps the tastebuds alert for a significantly long time. The mouthfeel is strong, rather full and deliciously dry. It's also somewhat lip-glueing, a bit tangy, recognizeably roasty and even somewhat charred. In my opinion, this is truly quaffable. Especially for an African beer which happened to be my 50th.

Mieto kahvin tuoksu. Sysimusta juoma ja vaaleanruskea tuhti vaahto. Voimakas maltaisuus, lähes palanut maku. Ripaus makeutta loppusuoralla. Katkera jälkimaku.
