Happy Friday everyone! I've just come back from the local. There was a dual presentation at The Sally - Gloucestershire pub of year and South West pub of the year. Well deserved. Now back at home and cracking open a few beers from my last trip to Favourite Beers in Cheltenham. Cloudwater can do no wrong in my eyes - but even I have to admit that this is a bit average. It pours a pale straw gold with a tight white head. Looks perfect. I think sub 4% beers need to have serious flavoursome heft these days, and this doesn't quite get there. Just about enough hops punch through what tastes like a pale ale/lager crossover. The finish is dry and hard. Not in a bad way, but it's not distinctive enough to be memorable. Beautiful can though.
