Villagers Pontoon Red Ale
Light mahogany one finger beige head that laced a little but didn't go any distance.
A plentiful nose with a rich tropical sweet and malt fruitiness aromas going on and something reminiscent of fruit loaf.
Mouthfeel is smooth and soft, medium effervescent in the mouth but I kept it in my cupboard so the fridge might have given it a more refreshing edge.
Upfront is light bitter orange pith and malt fruit cake then, of all things, a moment of Palma violets. It's a gentle draft, kinda like a dessert drink. I didn't get any resin or pine notes which I think would have given an extra dimension and edge but it's a pleasant pub potation.
