A dark seasonal drink brewed from October to April. The advent of 'old' is eagerly awaited by its devotees. Reminiscent of the mild ales produced during the early part of the 20th century, it is brewed to an original gravity of 1040° - 1044° using a high percentage of crystal malt and black sugars. The result is a soft, full beer with a nutty palate.

Not normally a massive fan of dark ales but this one was lighter than I expected

Dark chocolate colour, malty bouquet, very smooth and sweet with a slightly burnt aftertaste. Makes winter tolerable

Delicious dark ale. Like a liquid fruitcake!
