A true award winning best bitter with universal appeal. Tiger Best Bitter is a classic example of getting the perfect balance between sweetness and bitterness. Crystal malt gives the beer its rounded toffee character. Tiger is the Official Beer of the Leicester Tigers.

A ½ pint for the road! The beer colors lucid brown. Rather subdued carbonation leaves a minuscule-bubbled, creamy head that barely climbs half a finger tall. Yet, the long retention maintains a thin haze and moderate lace ring on the top for quite some time.
Caramel, less toffee and medium-brown multigrain bread seal the deal for the scent. That's it. Nothing to add. And why should I? Let's move forward with what is given.
The taste receptors spot sweet-leaning caramel, still with a bitterish vibe, a pinch of toffee, nut and graham cracker. Hops are nicely at disposal here albeit somewhat restrained. I still pick faint nuances of raisin and even a whisper of prune.
The body is clearly light minus. Someone could even categorize it 'thin' but I find this a bit more robust than that. The end is caramelly, nutty, bready and a tad hoppy. And relatively short.
The mouthfeel is very light, rather smooth, modestly crisp and lip-glueing. Easy but I guess that's how it's supposed to be, right? Not characterless though.
