Hibernation Ale has been our celebrated winter tradition since 1995. This robust, dry-hopped ale has a malty richness balanced with a complex hop profile and hearty, warming character.

Another Duo beer with my son-in-law in Texas. He seems to get a little bit different taste on this than me but here goes.
Short head, very dark cola color, not opaque but close. Sweet roasted malt aroma. Light but still creamy texture. Flavor brings forth a deep roasted malt followed by a lightly sweetened caramel. A small touch of spice blended in. As the finish begins, I get a mouth drying, hoppy bitterness. Then notes of chocolate disappearing into an overwhelming French roast coffee.
I enjoyed this beer. Felt like I was drinking an old world recipe for a winter time brew. Seems like a perfect beer to go with a burger or a steak.

Leftovers from last christmas. Lots of bits and pieces floating around. Smells roasty with caramel, coffee and chocolate. The taste has got the same, but is not as sweet as the aroma indicated. Still a decent beer!

Alehan se on, maistuu vähän saaristolaisleivälle. Ei omaan mieleen.
