Ludwidicus Gootz, a 14th century farmer with an unnatural thirst, concocted an ale born of deep snow and whirling winds in his Germanic homeland. Shunned by the brotherhood of monks, Gootz took it upon himself to spread this heavenly beer throughout the land. Upon his death, Gootz revelers rose up and demanded his induction into the Sainthood...and hence his ale became known as Saint Gootz."
