The same recipe was brewed at both Georgetown Brewing and at Base Camp Brewing, the difference being that Base Camp fermented their batch with a German Hefeweizen yeast, while we elected to use our house yeast. Notes of citrus, grapefruit, pine, guava, toast and chocolate permeate this dark wheat beer. The German strain produces clove and banana characters that play well with the fruity flavors from the Citra and Oregon grown Meridian hops, while our house strain adds more depth to the fruity and floral flavors.
