Our single hop series is designed to teach us about the characteristics of several new hop varieties that have come along recently. This release uses Citra. As with the others we used it in a pale ale rather than an IPA as those tend to be subtler and far more refreshing and drinkable than their bigger cousins. As with the other beers we added hops for bittering, flavor, aroma and dry hopping. Citra is a special aroma hop variety comprised of Hallertau Mittelfrüh, US Tettnang, Brewer's Gold and East Kent Golding. Citra's aroma is described as having "strong citrus and tropical tones of grapefruit, melon, lime, gooseberry, passion fruit and lychee ." 5.5%ABV
